Booking Process

Booking

Before making a booking, read the provided hotel pricing information in detail. This agreement covers bookings made online, by phone and via email.

When booking a stay with SWEETS hotel, all pricing information will be provided before finalising the booking. SWEETS hotel reserves the right to offer new products and/or services at all times. Prices shown on the website and in any advertisement may be changed without prior notice.

When using the bridge house for commercial purposes, different policies and rates apply. Please contact our team:    +31 (0)20 740 1010 / press@sweetshotel.amsterdam to find out about the possibilities.

By making a reservation you consent that SWEETS hotel should immediately provide its products and/or services.

Terms of a third-party service provider may additionally apply when handling payments.

SWEETS hotel is at all times entitled not to accept a reservation, or to attach additional conditions to the acceptance of a reservation.

When SWEETS hotel changes or cancels a booking, SWEETS hotel will let you know by using the contact details provided when making the booking.

Rates

We offer two kinds of rates:

Standard Rate
Three days before arrival, at 4 PM, your credit card will be charged with the following costs: room night(s) + 12,5% city tax. Up to the moment of transaction, your reservation can be cancelled or modified free of charge. In case of late cancellations (less than three days before arrival) and no-shows, the accommodation costs will not be refunded.

Non-refundable Rate
Directly after making the reservation, all costs (room night(s) + 12,5 % city tax.  Will be charged to your credit card. It is not possible to cancel or change your booking.

Payment

A valid credit card is required to guarantee your reservation. City tax (12.5%) is calculated after completing your booking. SWEETS hotel accepts all credit cards.

If you do not have a credit card, it is possible to pay via bank transfer: please contact us. When you pay by bank transfer, all costs (room night(s) + 12.5% city tax + any extras) must be paid.

Changes & Cancellations

Standard Rate
Bookings made with our Standard Rate can be cancelled or modified up to the moment of transaction (three days before arrival, at 4 PM). In case of late cancellations (less than three days before arrival) and no-shows, the accommodation costs will not be refunded.

  • Bookings made with SWEETS hotel directly (online, by telephone etc.) can be changed or cancelled via telephone and email only.
  • Changes or cancellations are only final after confirmation from SWEETS hotel.
  • To change or cancel bookings that were not made directly with SWEETS hotel, please use the alteration options of the channel/company used to make the booking.
  • Changes in dates or number of nights are subject to availability and rate changes.

Non-refundable Rate
It is not possible to cancel or change a booking made with a non-refundable rate.

Security Deposit

Valid credit card details are requested as a security deposit during your stay.

Pricing

All prices shown online are per bridge house per night (unless otherwise stated). Rates include VAT and exclude city tax (12.5%) and any extras. Prices are subject to change without notice. However, your price is guaranteed once you receive a booking confirmation.

Group and Long-stay Bookings

Additional conditions are applied to group bookings and long stay bookings.

Reservations consisting of 3 or more bridge houses are considered a group booking.

Reservations of 8 or more nights are considered a long stay booking.

House rules

Occupancy

Each bridge house accommodates a maximum of 2 adults (21+ years). Since our bridge houses only have 1 king-size bed each, we recommend sharing your bridge house bed with a partner or friend as no extra beds can be placed in the bridge houses.

Check-in

The check-in time is 4 PM on the day of arrival, at the latest.

SWEETS hotel operates on a self-service system which allows guests to check-in online and access the reserved bridge house with their smartphone (using an app called FLEXIPASS). Detailed instructions are included in SWEETS hotel’s confirmation email, which is sent to you directly after booking.

Good to know:

  • The personal key code for FLEXIPASS will be sent on the day of arrival, as soon as the bridge house is ready (4 PM at the latest).
  • A key card is provided in the bridge house. During your stay, both the key card and your mobile phone can be used to unlock the door.
  • The key code and key card will stop working once the check-out time has passed.

Check-out

The check-out time is 11 AM on the day of departure, unless a late check-out was added to your booking and confirmed by SWEETS hotel. Bookings for 206. Amstelschutsluis automatically include a late check-out of 12 AM.

Please let us know when you check out by selecting the CHECK OUT option on the electronic tablet (SuitePad) provided in each bridge house. The provided key card and FLEXIPASS key code will stop working once the check-out time has passed.

Children

Since SWEETS hotel bridge houses are located next to various bridge crossings (which are considered dangerous), children and young adults under the age of 21 cannot be accommodated in the bridge houses.

Pets

Unfortunately, pets cannot be accommodated at SWEETS hotel.

Guests with impaired mobility

Regrettably, none of SWEETS hotel’s bridge houses is suitable for wheelchairs.

Noise

No excessive noise between 10 PM and 7 AM in and around the bridge houses of SWEETS hotel.

Drugs

Use, possession or selling of drugs in and around the bridge houses of SWEETS hotel is strictly prohibited. Criminal behaviour is not tolerated at any location of SWEETS hotel.

Smoking & Candles

SWEETS hotel’s bridge houses are smoke-free, in accordance with Dutch law. A cleaning fee of €150 is charged to guests in case of smoking and/or the use of candles in the bridge houses.

Confetti & Balloons

The use of confetti and/or balloons in the bridge houses of SWEETS hotel is prohibited. A cleaning fee of €150 is charged to guests who place confetti and/or balloons in the bridge house.

Damage to or loss of personal items

  • As a guest of SWEETS hotel, you are responsible for protecting your personal belongings and those of SWEETS hotel by properly closing the door and windows of the bridge house.
  • SWEETS hotel is not responsible for any damage to or loss of goods or personal belongings in SWEETS hotel’s bridge houses.
  • Personal items can be stored in the safe provided in all bridge houses from SWEETS hotel. SWEETS hotel cannot be held liable for any items taken from the safe.
  • SWEETS hotel does not compensate for any damaged or lost personal belongings.

Damage to or loss of SWEETS hotel's property

We expect all guests of SWEETS hotel to take care of the bridge house they stay at. In case of any damage to the bridge house in question, or damage to or loss of items that belong to SWEETS hotel, please let SWEETS hotel know as soon as possible. That way, the issue can be solved quickly and SWEETS hotel might be able to prevent you from being held responsible. Read more about your liability under ‘Your liability’.

Leaving behind excess waste and/or leaving the bridge house in overall disarray will result in a cleaning fee.

Liability

Your liability

As a guest at SWEETS hotel, you have the full responsibility to leave the bridge house in question in the same condition as upon arrival. This includes properly closing the door and windows of the bridge house whenever you leave or go to bed. You are responsible for your own acts and negligence and for the acts and negligence of any individuals whom you invite to, or provide access to SWEETS hotel’s bridge houses.

  • In case of any (in)direct damage to or loss of property/goods owned by SWEETS hotel (caused by your acts or negligence or that of other individuals, as mentioned above), you will be held liable for all repair and/or replacement costs.
  • If damage to SWEETS hotel’s bridge house or its contents occurs during your stay, or if items go missing, the credit card used for booking will be charged with the associated costs.

‘Damage’ also includes smoke damage.

Liability of SWEETS hotel

  • SWEETS hotel cannot be held liable for (in)direct damage as a result of the use of SWEETS hotel’s bridge houses by guests, including damage and losses caused by fire, robbery or criminal behaviour.
  • SWEETS hotel cannot be held liable for injury to a person and damage to or loss of any property of any person staying at or visiting SWEETS hotel.
  • SWEETS hotel cannot be held liable for any injury, loss or damage caused by third parties.

Personal details

  • SWEETS hotel works with Mews booking platform to keep your personal details safe. Credit card details are stored in a secured environment — nor SWEETS hotel, nor Mews can view your credit card details. Read more about security and data privacy in Mews’ platform documentation.
  • SWEETS hotel does not use your personal details for anything other than managing your booking(s), unless you have given your explicit permission to do so.
  • SWEETS hotel’s guests can request the deletion of their personal details in the systems of SWEETS hotel and Mews at any time after their stay.
  • SWEETS hotel has the right to cancel a reservation when false or misleading personal information is provided intentionally by the guest. The guest will be responsible for any costs that may be caused by providing false or misleading personal information.

If you would like to know which information SWEETS hotel has collected about you, or if you believe that any information SWEETS hotel is holding about you is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us. SWEETS hotel will assess and correct any information found to be incorrect.

Complaints & Comments

SWEETS hotel values your feedback! In order to quickly resolve any complaints or comments regarding your stay at our hotel, we urge you to contact the SWEETS hotel team as soon as possible (preferably during your stay).

Changes to Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions of SWEETS hotel may be changed at all times and without notice. To make sure you have read the most recent version, we recommend reading this page again shortly before your check-in.

Applicable law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. All disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

General Disclaimer

Agreement

The terms below form a legally binding agreement that determines your use of www.sweetshotel.amsterdam and/or the products and services provided by SWEETS hotel. SWEETS hotel is a company registered in The Netherlands whose registered office is at Damrak 50, 1012 LL Amsterdam (The Netherlands).

By using the products and/or services of SWEETS hotel, you agree to be bound by these terms.

  • The availability of the products and services may be changed, limited or ended by SWEETS hotel at any time. When this affects you, SWEETS hotel will notify you and will give you reasonable time to analyse the changes before the day it will be effective. You have to accept changes when you make use of the products and/or services after the effective day.
  • SWEETS hotel can make use of third parties to provide their products and/or services.
  • When any term in this agreement appears to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, you and SWEETS hotel will do their best to agree to such changes that will preserve the intentions expressed in these terms. If we cannot, then the invalid term will be severed from the remaining provisions, which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Use of pictures and content

When pictures and other content about SWEETS hotel are shared online, SWEETS hotel may use them for its own marketing purposes. Any content shared by SWEETS hotel will be attributed to the author. You have the full responsibility for any posted pictures or other content about SWEETS hotel.

Content and behaviour

You agree to not use the products and/or services of SWEETS hotel to:

  • (un)intentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law;
  • send, upload, share, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libellous, invasive of another person’s privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
  • bother or harm any persons or entities in any way;
  • impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your connection with a person or entity;
  • forge or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any content transmitted through the products and/or services;
  • send, upload, share, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any content that you do not have the right to make available;
  • make available any content that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party;
  • make available any unsolicited commercial communications or advertising, promotional or any other form of solicitation, except areas designated for such purpose;
  • bother or attempt to bother any user or network by means of submitting a virus via the products and/or services, including “overloading”, “flooding”, “spamming”, “mailbombing” or “crashing”;
  • access content or data not intended for you, or log onto a server or account that you are not authorized to access;
  • attempt to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the products and/or services of SWEETS hotel or any associated system or network, breach security or authentication measures without proper authorization, interfere with or disrupt the products and/or services or servers or networks connected to the products and/or services, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to the products and/or services;
  • attempt to modify, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reduce or attempt to reduce to a human-perceivable form any of the software provided by SWEETS hotel or used by SWEETS hotel;
  • extract or attempt to extract, in a substantial, repeated or other manner, content and data from the products and/or services of SWEETS hotel, in a way that is inconsistent with the regular envisaged use of the products and/or services of SWEETS hotel;

When SWEETS hotel is aware of any content or behaviour that contravenes the above rules, we may remove such content. SWEETS hotel may eliminate your use of the products and/or services when SWEETS hotel believes you have infringed these terms or any other policy of SWEETS hotel. You acknowledge that SWEETS hotel reserves the right to change its general practices and limits on the use of the products and/or services always with or without notice.

SWEETS hotel’s intellectual property and content of third-parties

The products and/or services of SWEETS hotel contain content of SWEETS hotel and they are protected from unauthorized copying and dissemination by international and national copyright, trademark and other intellectual and industrial property laws. Except your own content and as expressly allowed by SWEETS hotel or by law, you may not copy, modify, translate, publish, broadcast, transmit, distribute, perform, display, sell or exploit content available via the products and/or services of SWEETS hotel. SWEETS hotel’s property includes the “SWEETS hotel” branding, as used on products and/or services. All product and service names or logos, except indicated by SWEETS hotel, appearing in SWEETS hotel are (registered) trademarks of SWEETS hotel. No trademark on a product or service does not constitute a waiver of SWEETS hotel’s trademark or other intellectual property rights concerning that name or logo.

Warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability and indemnity

The products and/or services of SWEETS hotel are provided without warranties of any kind. This includes the information available via the products and/or services, and about SWEETS hotel. No rights can be derived from the information. SWEETS hotel’s goal is to keep this information timely, accurate and complete. If errors are brought to SWEETS hotel’s attention, it will try to correct them. However, SWEETS hotel accepts no responsibility or liability with regard to the information on the SWEETS hotel site.

SWEETS hotel does not warrant that the products and/or services will be available at all times, also in case of force majeure. Force majeure also includes a situation of force majeure of SWEETS hotel’s suppliers.

SWEETS hotel disclaims all liability for any damages or injury that you may suffer as a result of your use of the products and/or services. The limitation of liability does not apply when the damages or injury is the result of intentional acts or gross negligence of SWEETS hotel, or in the case of bodily harm.

SWEETS hotel maintains its website to offer information about its products and services. No rights can be derived from the offered information. SWEETS hotel’s goal is to keep this information timely, accurate and complete. When errors are noticed, SWEETS hotel will try to correct them. SWEETS hotel accepts no responsibility or liability with regard to the information on the SWEETS hotel products and/or services.

SWEETS hotel ensures that your privacy is protected. You will be assured that all provided personal data by using SWEETS hotel’s website will only be used according to this privacy policy.

SWEETS hotel may change this policy. SWEETS hotel will let you know by email (if we have this information), and by updating this page. If SWEETS hotel does not possess your email address, please check this page regularly for the latest information.

Information SWEETS hotel collects

  • The information provided to SWEETS hotel when you use its services and/or products. This may include name, gender, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, address, passport number, email address, social media names, credit card details, phone number, booking preferences and proof of Amsterdam residency.
  • The information provided to SWEETS hotel about your use of its services and/or products, collected via Google Analytics. This may include general usage information, including recent browser history and IP-addresses.

Uses and treatment of collected data by SWEETS hotel

  • Order processing, including sharing of limited information with payment getaway providers.
  • Periodically sending of promotional emails about new services and/or products, special offers or other information that may be interesting. (If permission is given by the recipient).
  • Improving SWEETS hotels services and/or products, including contacting guests for feedback regarding their stay.
  • Using and/or publishing feedback given by guests for promotional purposes, after explicit permission from the guest.
  • Eliminating accounts that/access of users who frequently infringe or are frequently accused of infringing the copyrights or intellectual property rights of others.

How SWEETS hotel protects the collected information

  • Personal information is kept behind secured networks and is only accessible to a limited number of persons with special access rights to these systems. The persons with access are obliged to keep the information confidential.
  • Processing all transactions through a gateway provider. Credit card information is stored securely and is not visible for SWEETS hotel, Mews or other parties.
  • Regularly scanning of SWEETS hotel’s website for vulnerabilities.

Exporting information outside of the EU

Data may be exported to countries outside of the EU where privacy laws may not be the same as in the country of residence. You give permission to this exportation by sharing information or using SWEETS hotel’s products and/or services.
